Performance. Excellence. Individuality.
We know why you
run.
We are runners ourselves.
We understand your desire, your drive to rise above.
We know what you expect in the running products
you depend
on.
We depend on the same products ourselves.

In 2003, lifetime runner and avid marathoner Jim Micheels opened
Raleigh Running Outfitters with his wife, Carolyn. Their intent was
to introduce the performance running products they loved and
depended on to runners in the growing Triangle area,
to present them to fellow athletes with a level of customer service,
connection, and camaraderie that had been formerly unknown.
Today, Raleigh Running Outfitters still strives to serve as a
retailer to which all runners can go for honest, expert advice on
product performance, training and racing, injury avoidance, and
athletic excellence.
We pride ourselves in our ability to outfit you completely for any
run, whether it's a long training run on a hot, summer day or a
chilly, hilly race event in the mountains. If you're looking for the
most advanced GPS system designed for runners or a lightweight
hydration system to keep you going, we can show you what's available
and tell you how well each product works, from firsthand experience.
And
running shoes? That's our primary language. With more than 60
different styles of racing and training shoes from all the major
manufacturers, we're versed in shoes. We carry only the performance
models that are best for running, and our staff personally tests and
evaluates them in order to provide meaningful advisement when you're
selecting shoes. Plus, we use technologically advanced
Video Gait
Analysis to make specific recommendations for any correction your
shoe should provide. Using high-speed video and slow motion/still
imaging, our staff is trained to analyze your stride, ankle motion,
and foot strike to measure your degree of pronation. Then, as you
test different shoes on our treadmill, we help you select the best
shoe for your biomechanical needs.
Running is no longer an individual sport. Finally, the support and
service you deserve.
